Welcome to your Eurovision Song Contest.

This was the thirty-first edition of the Yourovision Song Contest. Following their second consecutive victory in the previous edition, Norway once again hosted the contest; this time, in the city of Tromsø. This edition was notable for being one of the highest-scoring, with the winner setting a new record, and the top six finalists all breaking 100 points.

This edition had originally been planned to take place over the course of September 2016, but was hit by major delays, due to undisclosed management problems. Ultimately, the contest was pushed back to October, with the additional note that the contest may, as of this edition, be bi-monthly instead of monthly, but that the management team of the contest had expanded in an attempt to alleviate this.

Edition 31 - Tromsø - Serenity

Tromsø was chosen to host the contest to avoid repetition of host-cities, as Norway had hosted the contest twice before. Additionally, being so far north, it was considered the prime candidate to reflect the contest's slogan. The slogan in question is "Serenity", as a reminder of the importance of calm and peace, and how music can induce and prolong those states of mind.
