The Eurovision Song Contest (abbreviated ESC), is a real song contest. Most of the online song contests which the Song Contest Wiki is all about are based on the Eurovision Song Contest. Most of the online song contests are trying to be as similar to ESC as possible with countries competing against each other and the voting system of giving 12, 10 and 8 to 1 points. This Wiki should not be used to write about ESC, only about online song contests.
The majority of the people who are hosting or participating in online song contests are also followers of ESC. Many of the artists who have participated in ESC or real national selections to ESC are thereby used in online song contests. Entries which have been competing in ESC are banned from participating in most online song contests.
